In brief
A specialist special-needs school in Hawalli, opened in 2003 to serve Kuwaiti children with developmental delays, autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and slow learners. Around 160 students aged 6 to 18, with provision continuing to age 21.
CCIS is not a mainstream international school. The site is at Block 4, Building 19, near Ibn Al-Rashid Street and is purpose-built around therapy: dedicated speech and language, occupational, physiotherapy, and behavioural rooms, plus a sensory room and indoor gym. Every student has access to SLP, OT, PT, and behavioural therapy alongside academic instruction. Annual fee around KWD 4,100.
The school's mission is to take students through to relative independence by 21, with a route into vocational pathways or continued education. Staff include qualified therapists and teachers who undertake regular professional development. Best fit for Kuwaiti and expat families seeking a structured, therapy-rich school environment for a child with mild-to-moderate disabilities. Mainstream international schools should not be on the same shortlist.
