Sunway International School opened in 2008 in Sunway City, Selangor, as part of the Sunway Education Group founded by Jeffrey Cheah, and has around 1,300 pupils. It is Malaysia's only licensed Ontario offshore school that also offers the IB Diploma, teaching the Ontario curriculum alongside the IB with Canadian-certified teachers. It is accredited by CIS, and in 2021 the school reported a Diploma average of 36.2 points with every candidate passing.

Independent feedback is patchy. The International Schools Database lists no reviews. Edarabia carries six reviews dated 2016 to 2024 and leaning positive, and forum threads in r/Internationalteachers and r/expats have a small, recent volume.
