SISJ opened in January 2017 on the Sunway City Iskandar Puteri estate, part of the wider Sunway Education Group. Kindergarten and primary run the Ontario Full Day Kindergarten and Ontario primary programmes, with IB MYP from Grade 6 and a choice of the IB Diploma or IB Career-related Programme in Grades 11 and 12. Teachers are Ontario College of Teachers certified or IB-trained.
Around 500 students give the school a small, diverse feel that parents consistently describe as warm and welcoming. The Canadian-IB pathway suits families heading to North American or IB-friendly universities and offers continuity for transfers from Canada. Fees sit lower than the headline British-curriculum schools in JB. Earning a Bachelors of Music Performance and a Bachelors of Education from the University of Regina, Ms. Kim has gone on to teach all grade levels from K to 12 across various subjects, including music, math, language arts, science, and design. With a strong background in leadership roles from Subject Coordinator to Deputy Principal, Ms. Kim is excited to lead SIS Iskandar as Principal and is committed to fostering its growth into a world-class IB Continuum School.
