In brief
A long-established American-curriculum school in Al Waab pitched at families wanting California-standards teaching at the lower end of the Doha fee range.
BHIS was founded in 1995 and follows an American programme based on California state and Common Core standards from Pre-K through Grade 12. Cognia accredited. The school is co-educational with class sizes typically 25 to 30.
Public signal is thin. Available parent feedback is positive but limited in volume, with families noting that the school is hands-on with children and expects active parent involvement. Strengths flagged in school communications cluster around sports, music and creative arts.
The honest read is that BHIS sits in the value tier of Doha American-curriculum schools. Parents looking for a small, lower-cost American option find it serviceable. Families wanting the breadth and college-counselling depth of ASD will notice the gap.
DB note: founded year is missing; external sources record 1995.
Reviews
- Three parent reviews on a schools-database site split between two five-star ratings and one one-star.
- One parent praised engaging teachers, students and parents and said the staff support kids without leaning on parents to fill gaps.
- The negative review describes an admissions experience in which the parent says the child was initially cleared by the school psychologist but then faced repeated document requests and a surprise second assessment, with the parent calling the staff 'underqualified and unprofessional.'
- No usable signal surfaced or the major community discussions.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as BHIS Principal. Having been in the educational field and in Leadership position for more than 35 years, I believe I have a lot to contribute to BHIS. Our staff and students are dedicated to making BHIS the best it can be through engaging learning opportunities, extracurricular and athletic experiences. I believe that every student can learn and be successful if provided the right support and opportunities. BHIS faculty and staff are committed to providing all students with appropriate and challenging educational experiences in a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth and makes a positive impact in their lives. All students will learn to face challenges with confidence and perseverance. We always refer to brain research to understand the young educators’ minds and teach them according to their learning styles, applying differentiated instruction to address individual needs, and integrating technology to enhance the learning process.
