In brief
An established British-curriculum school in Obour City with a strong inclusion focus, including a dedicated autism unit using the TEACCH programme.
The Continental School of Cairo dates from 1994 and opened its international (British) division as Continental International School in 2007. The campus is in the 7th District of Obour City, north-east of central Cairo. The school covers ages 2 to 18 and runs the National Curriculum of England through to IGCSE and A Level, alongside an Egyptian national stream. The autism unit uses the University of North Carolina TEACCH framework and is one of the more developed special-needs offers in the Cairo market.
Parents describe a friendly, community-focused school that admits broadly across nationalities and backgrounds and works closely with families. Admission involves a parent and child interview with the principal plus an assessment. The school received an IFIP Global Inclusion Award in 2024. Families on the Heliopolis or New Cairo east side weigh it for inclusion provision and a calmer pace rather than for the prestige names of New Cairo.
