The school opened in September 2015 as Lycée Voltaire and adopted the Albert Camus name in November 2017. Trilingual delivery and AEFE oversight are the main draws for French and Francophone families on the West Cairo side, where alternatives are fewer than in New Cairo. The campus sits inside the New Giza compound off the Cairo-Alexandria desert road.

- Baccalauréat results. 2025 cohort: 98 percent pass rate with mentions on around 69 percent of candidates. Average grade banding around bien.
- Leadership continuity. Alexandre Nedelec has run the school since it opened, with previous AEFE postings in Bucharest, Milan and Kyiv. A long-stable head is unusual in the AEFE network.
- Campus and facilities. Purpose-built modern campus inside NEWGIZA on the Cairo to Alexandria desert road, alongside Evolution International School under the LVNG umbrella. Science labs, theatre, sports including swimming and tennis, school bus and before/after-school care.
Considerations
- Languages and intake. Arabic from kindergarten, English from CP. A French Passerelle programme exists for non-francophone arrivals, though the school is explicit that families need to commit to French exposure outside school. Roughly 70 percent of pupils are Egyptian, which shapes the playground language and the social mix.
- Location. NEWGIZA in 6 October City puts the school on the west side of greater Cairo. Convenient for families already living in NEWGIZA, Sheikh Zayed or 6 October; a meaningful commute from Maadi, Zamalek or New Cairo where many French-speaking expats live.
- Fee transparency. Current-year fees are not published openly; older indicative ranges sit roughly EGP 100,000 to 140,000 per year before registration and transport, but families need to request a current schedule directly.

Alexandre Nedelec
Alexandre Nedelec serves as the principal (proviseur) of Lycee Albert Camus in New Giza, Egypt. In his message from September 2024, he describes leading the institution through significant growth, noting that enrollment has expanded from 250 students at the school's inception to over 1,000 students across 47 classes.
