Successor to Menese International, which opened in 1990 on the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road. Cambridge IGCSE pathway with a STEAM emphasis and a long Cairene reputation.

Genesis carries forward the Menese name and student body and now runs as an English-medium international school for ages 6 to 18. Cambridge IGCSE is the main academic spine, supported by labs, libraries and an active extracurricular programme covering robotics, MUN and sports.

Parent feeling is mixed. Many families value the established culture, the campus, and the breadth of activities. A recurring thread from the more critical voices is how individual teachers handle children who do not fit the mainstream, with complaints that appeals to administration are slow to land. Communication with parents is the area most often raised when families compare Genesis with newer competitors.

A reasonable fit for Egyptian and dual-national families who want a long-established local IGCSE school rather than a brand-new build, and who plan to be involved enough to push back when something goes wrong.

  • Online signal is thin. International Schools Database carries a single review and iSchoolAdvisor shows a 4.0 average across six reviews, which is too small a base to read confidently.
  • The single ISD review from January 2024 is negative: a parent reported that a teacher "treated my son badly" and named multiple teachers behaving the same way.
  • No Reddit traffic, no Mumsnet thread, and no expat-forum discussion specific to this school surfaces.
  • Public-facing material online is dominated by the school's own marketing and Google reviews from staff, neither of which reads as independent parent feedback.
  • The school covers American, British and Egyptian national divisions on the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, with Cambridge IGCSE the headline international curriculum.
