Europa-Schule Kairo

ZfA-recognised German school in the Fifth Settlement of New Cairo, founded in 1998 by Prof. Dr. Gamal Nawara. Bicultural by design, with German, English and Egyptian curricula combined and Abitur as the leaving qualification.

Around 280 students with 60 staff, and CIS-accredited. The school sits in the encounter-school tradition, which means German and Egyptian families share the same classrooms rather than running parallel programmes. Native German-speaking teachers in the early years are central to how the school positions itself.

There is a separate, related school in New Cairo, Europa Schule Neu Kairo (ESNK), and families regularly confuse the two when researching, so confirm which campus you are speaking to. Good fit for German-speaking families wanting Abitur access without leaving Cairo, and for Egyptian families willing to commit to a full German-language route from kindergarten.
