In brief
American-curriculum K-12 school in El-Shorouk City, opened in 2010 and accredited by Cognia and MSA. Dual-diploma path with American high school plus an option to layer on Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level.
Sits on the eastern edge of New Cairo, which makes it a practical option for families in El-Shorouk, Madinaty and Rehab who do not want the daily haul to Maadi or Sheikh Zayed. Around 800 students, smaller and more contained than the big-name campuses. Cognia named it a school of excellence, and the Renweb and Google Classroom reporting cycle is one of the things parents actually praise.
The day-to-day signal is positive on administration, communication and a welcoming atmosphere. Sharper criticism shows up around fee disputes and contract terms, which has tipped over into legal complaints in at least one case. Worth pricing the full package, including transport from your area, before committing.

Reviews
- Dover International School (DAIS) is a private American-curriculum school in El Shorouk City, eastern Cairo, founded in 2010. The high school is dual-track with both American Diploma and IGCSE/A Level options. COGNIA and MSA accredited; named a COGNIA School of Excellence.
- Public review pool is small and strongly polarised. Edarabia carries five parent reviews from around four years ago averaging with broadly enthusiastic comments. Facebook shows around 90% recommendation across 60+ reviews.
- One parent and parent advisory committee member said "DAIS is a very good school. It's a well organised educational institution due to its wise administration and a good planning," while suggesting the on-site mosque be opened for prayer time.
- One sharply negative review online flags the opposite: "Worst school ever and scam, we are in progress to cancel all accredited certified to educate Americans in USA and many legal cases in Egypt against this scam school." There is no further substantiation or pattern around it across other platforms.
- There is little independent commentary or community discussions. Almost all online signal is school-adjacent (Facebook, Edarabia, Instagram), which limits the value of the data.
- For families weighing this school, the practical caveat is that the published feedback pool is small, the polarised reviews don't fit a recurring pattern, and there is limited online community to triangulate.
