In brief
Nord Anglia's Shunyi campus, 18 months to 18, the senior end of the BSB pair. Opened in 2009 as the through-school site once the original Sanlitun campus split into early years only. Around 1,100 pupils, English National Curriculum into IGCSE then IB Diploma.
Set in an expat-heavy stretch of Shunyi within reach of the airport corridor villas. Parent association is active and visible, which colours the day-to-day feel of the school. Two thirds of recent IBDP cohorts have hit point scores associated with the world's top 100 universities, a figure the school leans on heavily.
Families rate the breadth of co-curricular offerings and the through-school structure. Friction arises when there is parent-teacher disagreement; staff feedback suggests management tends to side with parents. Fees sit at the top of the Beijing market. The MIT, Juilliard and UNICEF tie-ins exist for those who want them, though they are not the reason most families pick the school.

Reviews
- BSB Shunyi is a large, Nord Anglia-run British school in the Shunyi expat belt, treated as a credible second-tier option against Dulwich and Harrow.
- Parent reviews split sharply. One five-star parent wrote that her daughter 'thrived' across five years and praised the holistic model, talented teachers and community feel.
- The single one-star parent review described 'the worst school experience' the family had had in Beijing, citing daily bullying with no protocols, a serious assault on her son with no action taken, and inconsistent teaching across the campus.
- A separate five-star parent reviewer reported that both her sons had been at the school six years, were doing well academically, had friends and were happy attending each day.
- Teacher-side commentary is mixed. One teacher who worked there for a year flagged 'incompetent micromanaging bosses' but said the housing, location near subway and Wangjing amenities were better than the school's reputation; another reported that colleagues working there described it as chaotic but well-compensated, with heavy paperwork.
- A 2018-era thread, still surfaced via search, raised similar admin-vs-teacher complaints, suggesting the management critique is not new.
Positives
- Holistic curriculum and community. Long-staying parents describe a holistic model, talented teachers and a community feel, with children happy day-to-day.
- Location and logistics. Posters say the Shunyi campus is well placed for the expat belt, near the subway and Wangjing amenities.
Considerations
- Polarised parent experience. ISD parent reviews are clustered at five stars, with one detailed one-star review citing bullying handling and a serious assault that the parent says drew no action.
- Management for staff. Teacher-side Reddit posts describe micromanaging admin and chaotic operations, balanced against good housing and compensation.
