Amalur Comunitat Educativa Montessori

A new trilingual Montessori school in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, around 25 minutes from Barcelona, opened in September 2025 with a full 3 to 16 continuum on a one-hectare semi-rural site.

The project is run as an educational community rather than a conventional school, with AMI-trained guides, prepared environments at every stage, and a heavy emphasis on time outdoors. Ages span Children's House through adolescent secondary, which is unusual for Catalonia, where most Montessori options stop at 12. Pick-up and drop-off services run from Barcelona for families committing to the Montessori route without moving out of the city.

Too new to have a real reputation yet. Early visit-based write-ups praise the coherence between what the team describes and what shows up on the ground, but there is no graduating cohort, no inspection history, and the secondary stage is still being built out cohort by cohort. Right for families who already know they want orthodox Montessori through adolescence and are willing to back a small, founder-led project.
