The Almaty NIS is the Physics and Mathematics direction school, opened in 2014, part of the state-funded Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools network for ages 11 to 18 across Kazakhstan.
Reddit treats NIS Almaty as one of the two most prestigious schools in Kazakhstan, alongside the Astana NIS, and as an aspirational destination for high-performing students.
Graduate outcomes published by the school cite admissions to Harvard, MIT, Yale, Penn and Williams across roughly 1,300 alumni in ten years.
